Flexible Packaging

Stand-Up Pouches

Stand-up pouches come in a variety of sizes with various closures including press-to close zippers, certified child-resistant zippers, or no zippers, with the option of hang holes and tear notch openings. Stand-up pouches can also include transparent or clouded windows with spot embellishments and various finishing options including matte, soft touch matte, gloss and metalised. These pouches are also puncture and tear resistant printed on either high-barrier, specialty, recyclable and metalised PET films.

Flat Bottom Pouch

Flat bottom pouches, also known as box pouches are stable and space-efficient, made from PCR materials, reducing waste and environmental impact. These pouches are best for coffee, dry goods, pet food and snacks. Flat bottom pouches are made from either metalised or clear film and can include clear front panels so your product can be showcased.
The main differences between a stand-up pouch and a flat bottom pouch is their shape and stability as flat bottom pouches have a flat base which provides stability and allows them to stand upright on their own, however a stand-up pouch relies on the gusseted bottom to stand.

Spout Pouch

Spouted pouches are similar to stand-up pouches, however have a dispensing spout and re-closable cap. This feature prevents liquid spillage, reduces product waste, and can be processed through retort areas for long life shelf-stable products. Due to its spout and reclosing cap, it is the ideal packaging option for liquid products such as sauces and baby food, and non-food products like liquid fertilisers and detergents. Materials which spout pouches are made from usually include polyester, polypropylene and aluminum foil. They are built of numerous layers of various barrier materials which are laminated to form one continuous sheet.

High-Temperature Retortable Pouch

Retort packaging is made of special materials which withstand the high temperatures needed to properly sterilise products in a retort chamber. Similar to canned goods, retort pouches are filled with products, sealed and then undergo a specialised process which destroys any microbes which may spoil the product. These pouches are made from high-temperature laminates which can withstand rigeorous heat processing and are commonly used for hot fill food projects, pressure-processing rice and other low-acid foods.

Coffee Bag With Valve

Coffee bags with valves can either come in a stand-up or flat bottom bag option, making them easy to store upright, and giving them a stylish look. Coffee bags usually feature vacuum seals with air degassing valves which increase the shelf life of the beans. The degassing valves are an efficient one-way value meaning you are able to squeeze the air out without letting any in. The benefit of the vacuum seal is that it helps remove oxygen from within the bag, increasing the quality of the beans and enhancing the flavour.

Shaped Pouch

Shaped pouches are the latest trend in packaging, and give your product a unique and attention grabbing edge. The main feature of these pouches are indeed their specific shape. They are custom-made into specialised shapes and sizes designed to fit your brand. The pouches are die-cut to the correct shape and size, with necessary handles, rounded corners and windows cut out, then zippers and other extras are added on. Materials used can include clear, aluminum or kraft paper with either 100% compostable or recyclable materials. Both fluids and solids can be used in a shaped pouch as they are leakage proof, smell-proof and are high puncture resistant.

Roll Film

Roll film is high-quality film with print customised to suit your product and brand, giving it a premium look and finish. Printed film can be either mono or multi-layer films with barriers for oxygen, moisture, aroma and light, and can be turned into any packaging format during the form, fill and seal process.

Paper Bags & Laminated Paper Bags

Paper bags are a great, ecofriendly option for any corporate or retail application as they are made using 100% paper so are biodegradable. These bags can be supplied in a range of different colours, styles and handle combinations with full colour print options available on both sides. Laminated paper bags are water resistant, easy to clean, hold their shape for longer than a usual paper bag, and have extra cardboard for reinforcement in the bottom of the bag. The laminated paper bags can vary in stock from 157gsm to 180gsm or 210gsm, with the thicker stocks giving a sturdier and more reliable option.

Vacuum Film & Shrink Bags

Vacuum film is a film used for vacuum packaging in which air is removed from a pack prior to sealing, replacing the use of gases as a food preservation technique. It removes oxygen from the packaging by pulling the material into close contact with the food, and is commonly used for frozen poultry or fish. Shrink bags are multi-layer bags which increase shelf life and enhance product presentation while providing an oxygen barrier which protects the product from contamination. The key differences between the two is the film thickness with vacuum packaging having a thicker film, as well as shrink bags not having a true vacuum seal. For this reason, vacuum film is best for perishable food products while shrink bags are better for non food items such as water bottles.

Foil

Foil can be used to wrap individual and larger sweet items, and is mainly used at Easter for chocolate rabbits and eggs. It is ideal to put foil wrapped chocolates and sweets in a centre sealed/ sealed bag as foil can let oxygen get to the food and can harm it.
