The Brief

Taking on a store fit out of the 900 square metre shell at Boland street was no mean feat for the management of Vinnies’ Launceston. In a move that has taken them from being a charity store to charity “superstore” they have 7 paid staff, as well as the 25 volunteers that help run the store. It is the first time the Launceston store has used paid staff.

But how to make a shell, or undefined space make sense to your customers?

The brief we were given by Vinnies’ was just as much about helping customers find their way around the massive store as it was about appealing decoration and design.

They took some inspiration from some designs used in one of their Victorian stores and our pre-press team were able to manipulate those designs in-house to fit the Launceston store spaces.

Our wide format printer “Ana” worked hard, printing on all sorts of substrate from wall clings, to corflute and of course the thick wooden doors of the change rooms, pictured here.
